Why Alex? From the first time I heard The Calling's music in 2001, I knew there was something special about Alex. The passion in his voice and his live performance were something I had not seen in another artist. Then over the years I got to know Alex and see what an amazing young man he is. I've witnessed his kind heart and generous spirit on so many occasions. I've always said Alex is an "old soul" and you can see that in his music and how he lives his life. I'm really proud to have been a fan from the very start of The Calling's career and I'm honored to be able to have a site for Alex. He is one of a kind and will have a special place in my heart for all of time. I hope you enjoy the site.

NEW MESSAGE FROM ALEX!

The day has finally come! I just arrived here in FL to meet up with my new RV bus to start the long American Radio Promo Tour. This promotional tour is scheduled to go through May when the album finally gets released here in the US and then I will most likely be making my way to Europe to do promo and shows there as well. I'm pretty sure the single will come out in Germany first, with the other Countries in Europe following close behind. I don't know yet when Asia and South America will fall in to place, but don't worry, it's only a matter of time! You can expect tour diaries from the road starting this week and lots of little videos of what I'm up to each day!

The first single, "Tonight", is officially released to radio here in the US next week. Check out the much anticipated video for "Tonight" right now at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDDBNu6Tyz8. I want you all to see it first and I can't wait to hear your feedback! Let's spread this video EVERYWHERE and I will definitely also be needing your help to call radio stations all over the nation to make this song HUGE! I will get a list of radio stations you will be able to request the song at with details of which ones are most important very soon, so stay tuned. My temp website at alexband.net will be up very soon and the fully redesigned one will be launching late April to coincide with the album release. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I can finally say "next year is the year"" and mean it! I'm so excited to get the first single to radio here in the US when 2010 starts! I'll definitely be needing all your help to make this biiiiig! And the music video will of course be launched very very soon too for you all to see:) As always, I wanted to give everyone a Holiday new song download like I have been for years, so check here on amb.com for "Devil's Son". This is a really fun song I wrote years ago with a very talented writer and producer. It didn't make the album, but I really enjoy listening to it and I thought you all would too. October 31, 2009 - Today we have a new look to the website featuring the most recent pictures I took of Alex in Memphis, TN. October 28, 2009 -Updates! Today kicks off a 5 day celebration leading up to the 5th birthday for alexmaxband.com! It's been so much fun and there is so much great stuff to look forward to in the coming year. Thanks everyone for visiting and making the site and the Alex Band Loft such a success. August 28, 2009 -Updates for August! Lots of new fanart this month. Jodie has made two new desktops for the next series of shows from last year. She also made some great banners and you can find both those in the Extra's section. I also updated some of the screencaps from the videos to higher quality caps (Thanks Agnes!) and you can find those in the Gallery. While doing those I realized I don't have any for the Video, Why Don't You & I so Jodie made us up some of those. The video is not the highest quality but she did the best she could with what we had to work with. I've started the "Tattoo Pics" gallery as requested and you can find that in the Alex General Section. This is various pictures of his tattoos and also fan tattoo pictures that were inspired by Alex. If you have a picture of a tattoo that was inspired by Alex, please send it my way and I will add it. Also more fan questions answered by Alex :) Thanks Alex!

Alex Band fans should know that Paulo from ForPlace Agency still owes Alex from the December 2008 tour in Brazil - Alex recently added to the article by saying - "I was never paid a single penny from that guy. He is a liar and I have all the proof that he never paid me anything for all those shows (emails and canceled money wires). And it cost me thousands of dollars to get out there and play! I lost money."

March 28, 2009 -Updates for March! Check out the info section for an update on what Alex is driving these days ;) You can also go to the Rare Photos Gallery and Look under Alex's cars to see a picture he sent me. I've also added some new pictures of fans with Alex to the Fan Gallery and a new gallery from Heloa of pictures that were taken back on December 18th in Brazil. A few new desktops can be found in the Extra's section (made by Luisa and Anna) as well as a new MP3 for download. It is the extended version of "Things Will Go My Way" and was only available on the single purchase. Since you can no longer get that and I get lots of requests for the song I thought I would add it for download. February 28, 2009 -Updates for February! This month we have lots of Alex Art from all the talented fans. Under the gallery I have screencaps from the TV show Real World thanks to Nature and from the "Only One" video thanks to Luisa. I also have new banners from Anna and new desktops from both Luisa and Anna. Two new drawings have been added. All of these can be found in the Extra's section.

I've added a new music player to the INFO section so that new people visiting the site can get a sample of Alex's wonderful music. The questions and answers are back this month so check them out. Thanks Alex!

February 20, 2009 -New Message from Alex - This was posted on the message board here this evening -

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around but things have been crazy recently, both personally and professionally. I've been fighting to the death to get everything together to release this album and I'm happy to say that with the help of private investors and a partnership with a new independent label we are ready to go! The first step will be a first single release to radio in the US only, which will coincide with a full US tour to support it. We need to break this record domestically before we go global. I wish we could do the whole world all at once but it just isn't possible. I will let you all know the details of which song the first single will be and when exactly we will be taking it to radio. The album release date will be contingent on how the first single does and how long it takes to do what it does...if that makes sense;) But bottom line is both the first single and album will be out this year soon enough and I will touring again.

As soon as possible after we've secured the US we will take our tour and the single to Europe and Asia and South America. I wish I had an exact time, but there are too many variables to know now. The good news is I can finally move forward, and in a way where a major label can't hold me back or ruin my chances of success. It took forever to get to this point, but it will be very much worth the wait.

All you Brazilians should know that the duet with Marjorie of the song Arms and I wrote IS happening and I plan on coming there soon to finish working on the track, do press, and shoot a video. I am just waiting on our schedules to mesh right. And regarding the DVD, it is almost completely finished and turning out amazingly, but we have yet to decide the right course of action to take with it's release. As soon as I have more info I will let you all know.

We will be attacking all avenues of entertainment to help support the release of the single and have many great things in the works...and of course we'll need all of your help the most! So as soon as everything is in place I will bring you all into our plan of attack. Again I am so sorry for the ridiculous delay of getting this album out, if you all only knew the bullshit I have been through! Thank you for sticking with me, I do this all for you. Talk to you soon. January 31, 2009 -Sorry to be late with the updates. Things are pretty quiet so not much to do this month. I did add some nice desktops made by Nina and Lu. Also added two new High Resolution pictures. Those can all be found in the extra's section. I did some general updating here and there in different sections and also added a new gallery of pictures. They are from Oktoberfest and they were sent to me by the professional photographer who was covering the event. You can find them under Rare photos. I also have the clip of Alex's performance on CSI and you can find that in the Extra's section under Videos. Sorry no questions answered for now. If I get them I'll add them later.

January 15, 2009 - The reviews are in! Alex did a great job on CSI-NY. This was posted on the CSI website - Also check out the great screencaps Agnes made from the show. They are posted in The Gallery.

"One unexpected treat in the episode? Alex Band. Musicians trying their hands at acting don't always fare well (think Nelly Furtado's stiff turn in "Some Buried Bones"), but Band acquits himself well as a struggling musician with a drug habit that caused him to steal from one of his few friends. Even better than Band's performance, though, is the fact that we get to hear him sing. Might an album from his band The Calling be forthcoming? If so, at least the placement of his music didn't interfere with the story."
